KY Attorney General Says Nortonville City Council Broke Open Meetings Law
HOPKINS CO, KY - The attorney general's office says the Nortonville City Council broke the law during an August 4th session that was not open to the public.  The attorney general issued a statement that says Nortonville had no valid exceptions to the law in calling the closed session.

Fatal Traffic Deaths In Illinois On The Decline
ILLINOIS - State troopers say as of Friday, there were 681 traffic fatalities this year, which is 172 fewer than at the same time last year. Authorities say there were 1,248 traffic deaths in Illinois last year, the lowest number since 1924 when there were far fewer cars on the road.

Work Moves Forward On First Stretch Of I-69 Extension
EVANSVILLE -  Workers from the Indiana Department of Transportation are making progress on earth-moving work for the shortest stretch of the I-69 project. The project engineer says about a third of the work for the one-and-three-quarters-mile section is done.

Mayor Talks To NEWS 25 About Aztar Sale
EVANSVILLE - NEWS 25 is tracking developments in the sale of Casino Aztar to Eldorado Resorts. We told you earlier this week about Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel's letter to the Indiana Gaming Commission, urging the commission to move quickly in this switch over. He says not doing so could encourage Tropicana Resorts to delay bankruptcy proceedings, interfering with the sale.

Town of Elberfeld Under Boil Order
UPDATE 5:30pm
ELBERFELD, IN - NEWS 25 has learned that the town of Elberfeld is under a boil order today. A boil order means any water used for drinking or cooking needs to be boiled for at least five minutes first.
