Icy Conditions Blamed for Fatal Accident in Gibson County
GIBSON CO., IN - It happened on SR57, north of Oakland City, IN. The Gibson County Sheriff's office told NEWS 25 on Tuesday morning, the driver of a white Pontiac Firebird was going north on 57, when he lost control of the car on a railroad overpass. The car then slid into the path of a coal truck heading south on 57.
Kentucky Lawmakers Begin 2009 Legislative Session
FRANKFORT, KY - The 2009 legislative session has begun in Kentucky where the top priority will be balancing the state budget. Lawmakers say they are hopeful they'll be able to agree on a financial fix by the time the session is over in March.
Burris Turned Away From Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON D.C. - A Democratic official reports the secretary of the Senate has turned former Illinois attorney general Roland Burris away from taking Barack Obama's Senate seat. Burris told reporters he is now looking at legal options for getting the seat. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, who is facing federal corruption charges, appointed him.
Ball State Alumni To Pay For Indiana Governor´s Trip To Bowl Game
INDIANAPOLIS - A Ball State University alumni group will be paying for Governor Mitch Daniels' flight to Alabama to see the university play a college football bowl game after some questions were raised about the governor's use of a state airplane.
